mi architects are delighted that the construction of this new two-storey house, located within the conservation area of Tain, has recently started on site.
The sensitivities of the site are recognised, and the contemporary design will result in the house being viewed as a clearly modern addition to the conservation area.
The proposed design is well considered in terms of materials and finishes, and the choice of dark recessive colours for the timber cladding and roof finish ensure the house integrates into the site and existing tree cover without appearing overly ostentatious.
The house is located to be out with the root protection area of a large sycamore tree as retention of the existing mature trees within the site was crucial to the success of the project.
